Hamilton, Ontario – August 27, 2026 – MesoMat is proud to announce its participation in a new Ontario Vehicle Innovation Network (OVIN) R&D Partnership Fund project focused on advancing next-generation intelligent tire systems for commercial fleets.
The project brings together industry partners in Ontario and globally to enhance safety, efficiency, and sustainability across commercial transportation, and represents a total investment of over $2.2 million, including up to nearly $700,000 from the Ontario government through OVIN and $1.5 million in industry contributions from MesoMat and its project partners.
Tires are the only part of the vehicle that touch the road and one of the largest expenses for commercial fleets. With the transportation industry facing rising costs and increasing pressure to reduce carbon emissions, the development of intelligent, data-driven tire management provides one of the most immediate pathways to meet sustainability goals and optimize operations. MesoMat’s digital tire monitoring platform combines proprietary hardware with artificial intelligence to help vehicle fleets better understand tire performance, automate operations, and reduce fuel and tire related costs.
MesoMat will advance key innovations in tire sensing, predictive analytics, and sustainable material integration. By transforming the tire from a passive component into an active source of actionable data, this collaboration will provide fleet operators with the visibility needed to reduce fuel consumption, prevent costly downtime, and improve safety across their operations.
The project brings together MesoMat’s proprietary platform with the deep technical expertise of industry partners with operations in Ontario and globally. By working with experts in tire design and sustainable materials, MesoMat will refine its systems for broader supply chain integration and develop predictive models that allow fleets to proactively manage tire health.
