Labs/Research Centers

McMaster Manufacturing Research Institute (MMRI)

Areas of Expertise

Residual stresses, abrasive waterjet machining, micro-scale cutting, burr formation, chip curling, “green” machining and high speed/performance cutting. A key component of the research approach is to employ finite element analysis to a) study the highly complex deformation process under large strain and high strain rates at the macro and micro scale levels and b) process optimize to improve productivity and enhance part quality.
